Jack Thomas Mills was a kind person who loved people and life. He was born in Oklahoma City on May 25, 1937 to Dillard and Mary Mills. He never met a stranger and he loved to travel. He served a brief time in the U.S. Army. He was an entrepreneur whose passion was marketing. He routinely led junkets called Villa Vacations to England and Acapulco through the 1970s. He briefly tried life in the restaurant business with General Jack’s Pizza in Norman and Beef and Bun in Oklahoma City. Over 25 years ago he decided to expand his home place at Golden Pond to Golden Pond Village, building duplexes around the home place. These duplexes were specifically made accessible for the handicapped and elderly. He continued marketing Affordable Homes for veterans, seniors, and wheelchair users until a short time before his death. Even though he was small in stature, he was a giant of a man caring for others, especially veterans, the elderly and handicapped. He is preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by one brother, Dr. James Mills, two nieces and two nephews and their families along with extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the social model Hospice house, Agape Road, at 6601 NW 48th St, Bethany, OK 73008.
