Gaila Grimsley passed away peacefully on November 22, 2022, at her home in Bethany, Oklahoma. Born on August 25, 1927, to Velma Douglas and Floyd Clem, she was the fourth of their five daughters. Gaila married the love of her life, Hayward, on February 20,1944. Together, they raised two children. She was an avid reader, cross snitcher, china painter, and poetry writer. Until her later years, Gaila was an active member in her community and a volunteer at her church. She exuded faith, grace, love, and joy. She was warm-hearted, kind, and sincere. She will be greatly missed by all of those who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters (Jean, Helen, and Gratis) and children (Jean Gerth and Allan Grimsley). She is survived by her sister Bernice Stubblefield, two grandchildren, Dana Slaydon (Phillip) and David Gerth (Liz), and two great grandchildren, JD Gerth and Natalie Slaydon, along with several nieces and nephews, and other extended family members. A private memorial service was held on November 25.
