Bob began coaching baseball in 1970, later adding softball as well, sharing his enthusiasm for the sport for nearly twenty years. During this time, he was a founding member of The America Legion AA Baseball League in 1975 for the state of Oklahoma, serving as the State District Baseball Commissioner for several years. He received the Cooper Industries 1988 Outstanding Community Service Award, and is still fondly remembered by many players today.
