Our strong and most respected patriarch, Bobby Wayne Lester, age 86, peacefully and courageously took his last breath of life in his home in Yukon, Oklahoma on Sunday, March 13, 2022. His eyes were clearly fixed on his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bobby was born December 2, 1935, in West Ridge, Arkansas to Christopher Hoyt and Johnnie Mae (Adams) Lester. The family relocated to the bootheel of Missouri where Bobby learned dedication and hard work everyday and every season in the world of farming. His father taught him in every aspect of life working with his hands, never settling for mediocrity. This pride in dedication of work coupled with a strong love of country led Bobby to the United States Marine Corp where, as he always said, he graduated in the school of life. Upon returning to civilian life, Bobby met Shelba Howard. They fell in love and were married February 11, 1958. Bobby and Shelba began their young married life in Memphis, Tennessee where Bobby quickly got to work as a meat packer with Armour and Company just across Interstate 55 from his newly wed wife, Shelba at her place of employment, International Harvester. Together they started a family giving birth to two girls, Lisa and Gina at the beginning and ending of 1963. It was then six years later in 1969 they had a son; Bobby Jr. Bobby absolutely loved the land and all The Lord provided from it. He especially loved the oak tree which would be a perfect representation of Bobby, strong and towering above us all. Bobby lost the love of his life of 64 years, Shelba, just a few weeks prior to his departure from us. We stand confident they both now live on with Jesus in their heavenly home praising Our Savior all the day long. Bobby leaves behind his 3 children and their spouses along with his grandchildren, great grandson, and 2 brothers, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.
