Born on June 21, 1938 in Berkley, CA, Mr. Higginbotham was the son of Glenn Alan Higginbotham, Sr. and Dorotha Harrison Higginbotham. Mr. Higginbotham attended Carlmont High School in San Carlos, CA. After gradation he moved with his family to Puerto Rico where he worked as a draftsman. He then returned to the United States to serve 4 years in the United States Air Force. During his service at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS, he met the love of his life, Edith Ernestine Talburt. They were married on June 5, 1960 in Batesville, AR then moved back to California to train under his father as a tool and die maker. Eventually, Mr. Higginbotham and his wife moved back to Arkansas where he spent the next 50 years of his life. He attended the University of Arkansas and received a B.S. in Vocational Agriculture. Utilizing this degree he taught for over 15 years in several schools throughout the state. His passion for teaching and education, his love for his students, and his ever present sense of humor made him an exceptional teacher. He returned to the University of Arkansas where he earned his Masters Degree in Education and served the last 15 years of his career as a High School principal. Mr. Higginbotham was a loving husband and dedicated father. After retiring from education he and his wife moved back to Bentonville, AR to be close to their children and grandchildren. His was known to family and friends as an avid photographer.
Survivors include his lovely bride of 50 years, Edith Higginbotham, daughters Stacey Linn Parham and Sharon Aileen Zeeck, son Scott Alan Higginbotham, grandchildren Emily Reynolds, Christopher Zeeck, Lauryn Zeeck, and Jake Parham, sisters Terri Williamson and Sue Raymond, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 24, at Callison-Lough Funeral Home, 605 W. Central in Bentonville. Graveside service will be held at 11am on Monday at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Batesville, AR. Arrangements are under the care of Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Bentonville.
