Arthur John Rash, 83, husband of Ursula Schulz Rash, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021, peacefully at home. Born August 2, 1938, on Long Island, New York, he attended Weldon E. Howitt High School in Farmingdale, Long Island, New York. After high school he joined the United States Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant after twenty-one years of service. He then worked for Wilcox, a division of Northrop until he retired in 1997.
Throughout his life Art spent many years volunteering with his church and was active in the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the Scouting “Mic-O-Say” Tribe and earned top honor with the Wood Badge program. He also enjoyed painting, camping, travel, genealogy, and coin collecting.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ursula, and children Debbi (Rob) Rydberg of Elk River, Minnesota; Kenny (Kelly) Rash of Panama City Beach, Florida; Steve (Diane) Rash of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and David (Kelly) Rash of Kansas City, Missouri. Grandchildren Matthew, Amanda, Andrew, Melissa, Kristen, Jacob, Kayla and Zachary and Great-Grandchildren Connor, Isley, Kensington and Vivianne. He is also survived by three sisters, Nora, Diana and Carol. He was preceded in death by his grandson Aaron Rash.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 10 am at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 5901 E. 135th St. Grandview, Missouri. Donations in his name may be made to the church or to the DAV (Disabled American Veterans).
