Age 88, born in Hoquiam WA, January 2nd, 1924, passed on August 9th, 2012 after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Jasper, daughter Mary, 6 brothers, 2 sisters. His brother Eddie of Seattle, his sister Florence of Aberdeen survive him as well as children Paul Jasper (Elaine), Susan Jasper, Joseph Jasper, Kim Darby (Tom), Kathryn Rector (Wayne), and Judith Hayes and 11 grandchildren, Staci, Jamie, Jessica and Jaime Jasper, BJ, Robert and Elizabeth Neil, Tom and Bret Darby, Joel and Martha Rector. Dick grew up in Grays Harbor, attended Elma High School, and Seattle University graduating in 1947 with a degree in Education. He taught junior high for many years retiring from Bellevue School district as Asst Principal at Tyee Junior High at 59. He worked after retirement at the Villa Inn at Crossroads serving Chicken and jojos. He loved his family, meals, his garden, clam digging and looked forward to attending the Jasper Family picnic each year at Black Lake. Viewing from 4 to 8pm, with rosary at 7pm on August 15th at Sunset Hills. Mass will be held at 1030am Thursday August 16th at St. Louise Catholic Church in Bellevue followed by graveside service at Sunset Hills Memorial Park, Bellevue. There will be a reception celebrating Dick's long life at the home of his nephew Don Jasper. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St Louise Building fund or to the Martha Jasper Scholarship fund at the Northwest Kidney Center.
