Peggy was born in Seattle on December 6, 1947 to parents Stewart and Kathryn Toy and passed away in Kirkland surrounded by family after a short illness on February 2, 2016.
Peggy attended Edmonds schools and graduated from the University of Washington in 1972 with a degree in Business Administration. She was employed by Fluke Capital Management for thirty-one years and was its CEO.
Peggy was very involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters starting at the local level and finally as the Chairman of its National Board. She also participated in the Foundation for Early Learning, American Management Association, and Washington Business Week.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Stewart Toy in 1963. She is survived by her loving husband of thirty years, Len, mother Kay Toy, sisters Kathy Carrithers, Jeanne Lawrence, Nancy Chatagnier, and Barbara Toy. Thirteen nieces and nephews and twelve grandnieces and grandnephews will also mourn her loss.
Peggy lived a rich and full life. Her wisdom, humor, giving spirit, and upbeat outlook touched many lives and will carry on through her family, friends, and those whom she touched. There were lots of vacations, foreign travel, and cruises. She loved playing bridge, beading, and entertaining with dinner parties. She was loved and will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Peggy was buried at the Holyrood Cemetery in Shoreline with family in attendance for the private ceremony. A celebration of life will be at Sunset Hills Funeral Home, 1215 145th Pl SE in Bellevue, on Saturday February 27, 2016 at 1:00 pm.
