Connie (Van Nes) McCULLOUGH Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, on February 27th, 1931, and died on March 31st, 2010 in Bellevue, WA. Connie married Henry McCullough on January 26th, 1951 and relocated from Vancouver, B.C., to Seattle. She became a US citizen on July 4, 1963.
Connie was a grade school teacher prior to becoming a homemaker and mother of 6 children. She was very active in her community, serving in leadership roles in the Lake Heights Elementary School PTA, the Newport Hills Community Club, the Meydenbauer Bay Yacht Club, and Kiwanis. Her laughter and love will always surround us, as she was an amazing spirit who touched many people with her light full of teaching, mothering, friendship, poetry, art, humor, and much, much more.
She is survived by her children Linda Beckelman, Kathy and Jerry Hooser, Cindy McCullough and Bob Robinson, John and Stephanie McCullough, Pam and Craig Ratcliffe, Lucy and Trent Henderson, grandchildren Leah Beckelman and Jaxon Henderson, and partner Jim Campagna, as well as her siblings Ralph Van Nes, Freda Ritchie, Doug Van Nes, Bob Van Nes, Joanne Okano, Evelyn Zimmer, Donna Steeves and Nancy Chambers.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 10th, 2010 at the Meydenbauer Bay Yacht Club, 9927 Meydenbauer Way SE, Bellevue, WA, 98009. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the Make a Wish Foundation (www.wish.org) or Treehouse (www.treehouse4kids.org).
