Robert (Bob) Edgar Vogt, 63, born September 19, 1947 in Belleville, IL, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at his residence in New Athens, IL surrounded by his two poodles, Bo and Eli at his side.
Bob was a truck driver for Liese Lumber Company from which he retired after 32 years. He was also a member of the Local Teamster’s 50. Some of his hobbies were being an avid pool shooter for the St. Clair County Bank Pool League as well as being an enthusiastic stock car lover, where he was affectionately known as “Crabby Bob”.
Bob is preceded in death by his father, Harold Vogt. Surviving are his mother, Frieda Vogt, his sister Kathy, nee Vogt, Bruce, his brother Michael Vogt; 6 children, Corey Vogt of Belleville, IL, Kimberly, nee Vogt, Pringle of Columbia, IL, Robert Vogt of Belleville, IL, Amy, nee Vogt, Reddick of Warrenton, MO., Christine Vogt, of St. Louis, MO., and Jeffrey Vogt of Belleville, IL; four grandchildren; his very special loving aunt and godmother, Irma Scharf and uncle Ralph (Rosie) Vogt; and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 PM, Tuesday April 26, 2011 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 11 AM at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home with Pastor David Krueger officiating.
