He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank D. and Marjorie M. (Markillie) Morgan, and his niece Molly Morgan.
Michael is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen (Saylor) Morgan, sons, Andy (Alicia) Morgan, Adam (Amanda) Morgan, grandchildren, Isabella, Olivia, Alaina, Jackson, and Andrew, sister, Margaret Lee (Richard) Starr, brother, Melvin (Yami) Morgan, nephews Christopher Starr and Matthew Morgan.
Michael was a carpenter by trade who built custom homes in Quincy, Peoria, and Smithton for over 20 years. He then was employed at G & S Foundry where he retired as a foundryman after 20 years.
He enjoyed outdoor recreation with power boats, jet skis, and motorcycles. He also enjoyed owning a variety of vehicles of which it's been said he “never had to buy new tires for his cars." In the past few years, he enjoyed slot machines and relaxing while watching movies.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 8, 2024, 9:30 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, Freeburg, Illinois, with funeral services immediately following at 11:00 a.m.
Inurnment will be private in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Freeburg.
