Marilyn met and married her loving husband, William Eagan, in 1957. Together they farmed side-by-side for the next 63 years, raised 3 boys and cooked many meals for her family, relatives and neighbors. Their passion for polka music and dancing led them on many trips to Michigan and Wisconsin for annual polka fests.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Eagan, and her parents, Melvin and Elvira, nee Reichert, Scharf.
Surviving to cherish her memory are sons, Steven (Carolyn) Eagan, of Valmeyer, Illinois, Michael (Sandy) Eagan of Millstadt, Illinois, and David (Jean) Eagan, of Belleville, Illinois; her grandchildren, Amy Eagan, Zachary Eagan, Justin Sampson, Amanda (Bryan) Bittle, Mike (Danielle) Thompson, great-grandchildren, her brother and sister-in-law, Melvin, Jr., and Pat Scharf, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Tuesday, March 7th, 2023 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois.

Interment will be private at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, Illinois.
