Brittany N. Monroe

Brittany graduated from Freeburg High School in May 2013. She brought much joy to her family throughout her life and loved going for car rides.

Brittany is survived by her mother, Krissy (nee Monroe) Gibson and step father, Mickey Gibson of Swansea, IL; her father, Billy Castrogiovanni of Columbia, SC; siblings, Garret Monroe, Abbigail and Chloe Gibson, and step siblings, Ethan, Shyanne, and Ava Gibson; grandparents, Henry and Nora Monroe of Belleville, IL and Robert and Sharon Castrogiovanni of Downey, CA; and aunts, Debby, Gerri, Lisa (Chris), Kelly (Paul), Sandi (Mario) Vikki, and Laura; uncles, Henry (Paula), Bobby, Michael (Laura), and Vincent (Sara); and numerous relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her uncle Dale; great uncles, Jim Crouch and Stephen Hill; great grandparents, Gerri Komoromi and Henry and Anna Monroe; and cousins, Tristen “T-Man” Rives and Carol Crouch.

A very heartfelt thank you to Terry, home health care nurse, for taking care of Brittany for more than a year and Cardinal Glennon, Dr. David Rawdon, Hospice of Southern Illinois, and Judy Crouch, Barb Peese, and Pam Hill for loving family support.

In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the funeral home to help cover funeral expenses.

Services: Visitation at Valhalla-Gaerdner-Holten Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 3 from 4-8 p.m. Service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4 at the funeral home with a procession to follow to Valhalla Gardens of Memory for interment.
