Tommy Ray Turner was born in Donie, Texas on August 12, 1934 and went to be with his Saviour in Heaven on December 14, 2014. His is preceded in death by his wife Patricia Anne Turner, his mother, Bessie Turner, his brother, Billy Turner and Billy’s wife, Vicki Turner. He is survived by his daughter, Leigh Ann Turner Hackerman, her husband, Chris Hackerman, their two children, his beloved grandchildren, Laraleigh and Lane Hackermen, his brother Donny Turner and his wife Janice, his brother Kenneth Turner and his wife Sandra, his niece Kristi and her son Brady, and his nephew Trent and his children Aiden and Everleigh.
Tom graduated from University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science in 1958 and got a job as a mechanical engineer at Sinclair Koppers in Texas City. He was very successful and went on to become a plant manager of Arco Polymers, eventually managing two USI plants at the same time before retirement. He was always very active in church, spending many hours serving as a deacon, on various committees, and doing lots of service projects at First Baptist Port Arthur, First Baptist Silsbee, and Sagemont Church. Upon retirement, he also spent most of his free time volunteering at the Mission Centers of Houston helping with Maintenance and Operations projects, primarily at Gano Mission, but also at Joy and Fletcher. He touched a lot of lives and helped a lot of people.
