She was born on May 6, 1935, to Louise and Joseph Maroul in Guy, Texas. She entered the Congregation of the Incarnate Word and Blessed Sacrament on September 8, 1956, and made her perpetual Profession of Vows on August 15, 1962. During her time of formation, she earned her B.A. Degree from the University of St. Thomas in Houston.
Sister Bea, as she was affectionately known, began her ministry as a teacher in the primary grades within the dioceses of Austin and Galveston-Houston. Yet, it was in her role as the school secretary at both Marian High School and Incarnate Word Academy in Houston that she truly found her calling. A quiet yet impactful demeanor that endeared her to the faculty and staff alike marked her 40 years of service at IWA, until retirement. She had a unique ability to connect with people, making them feel heard and valued. She quickly anticipated their needs, particularly when they were on a tight schedule. In her 65 years of religious profession and ministry, Sister Bea displayed commitment, dedication, and an engaging gentle spirit.
Sister Bea was devoted to her family and her home parish. She loved returning to her hometown for family celebrations, reunions, and church bazaars in Guy and neighboring towns.
Her parents and five siblings preceded sister in death. Her four sisters, Sister Dorothea Maroul, C.V.I. Joanie Zwahr, Lillie Ann Wigington, Henrietta Martin (Jim), nieces and nephews, and extended family survive her.
