Mona Mae Miller went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wed. March 8, 2023 at 91 after years of serving disabled children and rehabilitating animals. She was anxiously awaiting God to call her home. She looked forward to reuniting with her mother, father, brother and all the children and animals she helped after a long career of teaching and wildlife rehabilitation. Mona wrote the newsletter for raccoon rehab for 42 years and mailed it to all parts of the US and British Columbia.
Mona was born in Dallas, TX on January 18, 1932. She graduated from St. Agnes Academy in 1950. She graduated from University of St Thomas and taught at TH Rogers and other HISD schools.
Mona loved animals and poetry. She wrote numerous poems over the years. They were bound into a book and shared among friends and family.
Mona is survived by Katie Miller (sister-in-law), Elizabethton, Tennessee, Pamela Meredith (niece) Elizabethton, Tennessee, Angie Miller (niece), Oregon City, Oregon, Charles Miller (nephew), Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania.
