Denise Sheri Zimmerman

Born on January 30, 1960 to John and Phyllis McDowell, Denise spent her early years in and around Detroit Michigan, the oldest of three girls. She graduated from Plymouth High School in 1978 before attending Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri where she met the love of her life Don Zimmerman. She graduated with a degree in Business Management in 1982 and started her career as a broker and trader for EF Hutton in Dallas, before taking on the job she always cherished - motherhood.

Don and Denise were married in 1983 and raised three beautiful daughters. Together, the family lived in cities across the country including Fort Worth, Chicago, Atlanta, Columbus, and Houston. In every city and every neighborhood, Denise was able to build a community through her sense of humor, her hospitality, and her friendliness - becoming a rock for her family and countless friends along the way.

She loved the Lord and was known for her kindness, generosity, and servant’s heart. She easily gave of her thoughts, time and attention to those she loved, creating wonderful memories for her girls and all those who spent time with her family.

Denise was preceded in death by her father, John, and her in-laws Edgar and Ardys Zimmerman. She is survived by her husband Don; daughters Megan, Mallory, and Molly; her mother Phyllis; sisters Dianne Champine and Debbie Yaroch and their husbands; Don’s brothers and sisters, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews - whose birthdays she always remembered.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, but we know we will see her again someday.
