Bill was born on July 21, 1929 to William Carl Reed, Sr. and Opal Roderick Reed, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
He served in the United States Air Force, and at that time he met his first wife, Mary T. Frank, through his good buddy, and future brother-in-law, William Frank. He retired from Honeywell after a life-time career in aeronautics. His work sent him all over the world and he shared many interesting aspects of his travels back home.
Bill was very proud of his 49 years of sobriety and he cherished his A.A. Family.
Bill's love of nature, especially Fishing and Birding, led him to his most cherished camping spot, Cranberry Lake NY. He enjoyed many hours there with family, his long time friend, Dennis Crabtree, and many others.
Bill is predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Mary (Mickey) Teresa Frank, and his second wife, Frances Mask and his son, William (Mike) Michael Reed. He is survived by his children, Mary Louise (Mari) Reed (Sam), David Reed (Kathy), Deborah (Debbie) Reed, Mark Reed, Amy Reed Covais (Joe), Nancy Delozier-Walter and Philip Reed (Cathy).
He is also survived by his grandchildren: Theresa Delozier, Joyce Covais, Brian Reed, Stephen Reed (Amanda) and Joseph Covais (Lauren), step-grandchild Matthew Madigan, and his great-grandchildren: Michaela, James, Juliana and Nathan, as well as sister-in-laws, Angie and Joyce, and numerous nephews and nieces. The family would also like to acknowledge two of the many dear friends of Bill, Reggie Keller and Herb Freiberger. who were always by his side.
Family and friends may gather at Schimunek Funeral Home, 610 W. MacPhail Road, Bel Air, MD. Wednesday, July 26th between 10:00am - 12:00pm. A private service will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Mann House, 14 Williams Street, Bel Air, MD 21014.
