Ed received his Ph.D. in aeronautical engineering from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute in New York. His career included 38 years dedicated to furthering Army readiness through his work at the Ballistics Research Laboratory and the U.S. Army Research Laboratory. After retiring, Ed shared his love of the sciences and engineering with the younger generation through the Senior Science Society.
Beyond academia and his professional life, Ed had a deep passion for classic cars and tinkering. He could often be found under the hood or at the parts store keeping his vintage deals on the road. His singular humor and his incomparable spirit made friends and strangers alike feel welcomed as a part of his family. Perhaps his greatest joy in life, though, was spending time with his many grandchildren.
Ed is survived by his wife, Martha; his children, Laura, Ed, Tamara, and Dan; his grandchildren, Tess, Connor, Finn, Cooper, Kendall, Avery, Everett, Aedan, Griffin, Cameron, and Rowan; his sister, Diane; and many nieces and nephews.
