Charles Walter Holewinski

On Saturday, February 27, 2021, Charles Walter Holewinski, of Fallston, MD, died at the age of 81. He was the beloved husband of Margaret Holewinski (nee Yahner). Charles was born on January 25, 1939 in Baltimore, MD. He was the devoted son of the late Walter and Helen (Hanzlik) Holewinski. Charles attended Loyola High School and later Loyola College of Maryland receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science in 1961. Following college Charles served three years in the U.S. Army Intelligence Corps, serving tours in D.C. and Frankfurt, Germany. After his service he worked as a Position Classification Specialist with Aberdeen Proving Grounds where he later retired.

After retirement Charles and Margaret traveled Europe extensively. They especially enjoyed England. Vacationing abroad led them to join family and friends cruising the Caribbean and Puerto Rico. The Cunard Lines and QE2 were their favorite. Charles, as Captain of his boat Champagne, cruised the Chesapeake Bay and toured the Outer Banks. He and Margie enjoyed when family visited them at their home in Florida. He made it a point to attend all family affairs, especially those of Joe Federowicz, Ronnie Jablonski, and Stephen Kissell. Some of his later accomplishments were wine making, Bridge playing, vegetable gardening, and communicating with family and friends via the computer and iPad.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, 610 W. MacPhail RD, Bel Air, MD 21014, on Saturday, March 6, 2021, from 9-11 AM. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 12 PM, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (540 Joppa Farm RD, Joppatowne, MD 21085). A livestreaming of the mass can be viewed through the Holy Spirit Youtube website. Interment services will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Charles’ name to a charity of your choice. Condolences may be left for the family at www.schimunekfuneralhomes.com
