John P. Gill

John P. Gill passed away at the age of 87 on May 18, 2011.He was born in St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove to the late John E. and Marie Gill.He married Rose Marie Phelan on Oct. 23, 1948. She preceded him in death on March 22, 1996.

John was a WWII Army veteran serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater.John is survived by his seven children: Michael(Janet)Gill, Terry(Carol)Gill, Kathleen Gill, Patty(Larry)Baker, Peggy(Michael)Bova, Maureen(Greg)Lockwood and Bridget Colby.

He is also survived by his brother Michael Gill, his sister Ann Christian, 9 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren.

John was an avid golfer and was a member of the Brickyard Crossing Golf Club and the “Geritol” gang at South Grove Golf Club.Friends may call on Friday, May 20, 2011 from 4- 9 p.m. at Little and Sons Funeral Home Beech Grove Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Holy Name Catholic Church on Sat. May 21, 2011 at 10 a.m. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
