Betty Lou Hutchinson

Betty L Hutchinson, 87, formerly of Beech Grove, died May 24, 2016. She was a nursing consultant for the State of Indiana for 18 years, retiring in 1993. Previously she had been the Director of Nursing at Turtle Creek Nursing Home, Beech Grove. Over the years, Betty helped with her daughters’ Girl Scout Troops and sang in Sweet Adelines as well as the Beech Grove First Christian Church Choir. Betty was a very generous and kind individual and was loved by many. She kept her sense of humor until the end! She was married to her husband, William Thomas Hutchinson (Bill Tom) for over 46 years until his passing in 2003. She is survived by her three daughters, Kathy Li, Jennifer (Mark) Chapa and Erin Hutchinson and three grandchildren - Aaron and Lauren Li and Sarah (Chris) Chapa. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, June 11 at 2PM in Little & Sons Funeral Home, Beech Grove, with calling from 11AM to 2PM. The Celebration will have a Hawaiian theme, given that Betty and Bill met and were married in Hawaii. Guests are encouraged to wear Aloha shirts, Muumuus, Leis, anything tropical or brightly colored to celebrate Betty’s life. Family requests no flowers. Memorial donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. To commemorate Betty’s service to our country as a First Lieutenant in the Army medical corps as a nurse, she will be escorted to Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery by the Central Indiana Patriot Riders where she will receive full military honors in a private family burial immediately following the celebration of her life.Arrangements under the direction of Little & Sons Funeral Home, Beech Grove, IN.
