Vivian A. Linkous, 83, of Beckley, slipped peacefully away in the arms of her Savior to eternity on Friday, September 5, 2014. Born July 7, 1931 at Rhodell; she was a daughter of the late Flaves Houston Allmon, Sr and the late Minnie Ethel Gillen Allmon. When Vivian’s health allowed she was an avid bowler, Captain of her bowling team; she enjoyed church, a member of the Assemblies of God in Chardon, OH; she was very active in the choir and was a great vocalist. She was a wonderful homemaker and mother raising her family in the fear and adoration of the Lord, for this was important to her and her family. She was very vivacious and loving, she was full of life and was a great confidant who shared her excellent wisdom with her family and friends. She loved her family; she and her 9 siblings were very close. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Linkous, Sr.; son, David Linkous, Jr.; brothers, Don Daniel Allmon, Flaves H. Allmon, Jr., Robert “Bobby” Joe Allmon, and Leland Benny Allmon. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving daughter, Vicky Priddy and husband, Don of Beckley; sister, Malnettia J. Edwards of Beckley; brothers, Theron Carl Allmon and wife, Brenda of Crab Orchard, Freda N. Wood and husband, George of Brentwood, TN, Gary Dean Allmon and wife, Donna of Charleston, WV, and Larry Gene Allmon and wife, Lisa of Charlotte, NC. Services to celebrate the life of Vivian A. Linkous will be held 7:00PM Monday, September 8, 2014 at Calvary Assembly of God, 319 Sunset Drive, Beckley with Pastor John K. Jordan officiating. Vivian will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, David at the East Claridon Cemetery, Claridon, Ohio. Friends may gather with the family from 5:00PM until time of the service Monday at the church.
