He was born October 17, 1942, in Eccles, WV to the late James Mason Harper and Ruth Naomi Daniels Harper.
Roy was a member of Prosperity First Baptist Church. He enjoyed drawing, painting, and woodworking. He also loved college football and high school baseball.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Julia Bowles Harper; and daughter, Connie Harper.
Those left to cherish his memory include three children, David Harper, Sirena Harper, and Danny Harper; grandchildren, Brandon Harper, Amanda Harper, Troy Lewis, Ryan Harper, Kaylyn Harper, Sydney Harper, and Keith Dillon; great-grandchildren, Maverick Harper, Kolton Harper, Hollee Harper, and Lillian Lewis.
