Born June 4, 1945 in Philadelphia, PA; she was a daughter of the late James Abraham Mitchem and Violet Marie Presley Mitchem both formerly of Itmann.
Lillian loved reading, being outdoors, spending time with her family and her trips to the Outer Banks.
She obtained her Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from WV State University; she retired from Southern Highlands where she truly loved working.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Edward Mitchem formerly of Hotchkiss.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving sons, Blaine Cook and wife, Dawn of Lost Creek, and Alfon Cook and wife, Candi of Hinton; two grandchildren, Chloe and Michael Cook both of Lost Creek; three sisters, Jean Crook of Mullens, Gail Fernatt of Cross Lanes, and Lynn Kelly of Beckley; several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Services to celebrate the life of Lillian Cook will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with her son, Alfon officiating. Following the services Lillian will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Family will be serving as pallbearers.
Friends may gather with the family from 1:00PM Wednesday until time of the service at the funeral home.
