Ms. Campbell was a 1981 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and graduated from Concord University in 1994. She worked for the Raleigh County School system for 23 years, 17 years of which she taught at Independence High School. She loved and enjoyed traveling, attending concerts and was quite the “computer guru”. Ms. Campbell attended Lick Creek Baptist Church. Ms. Campbell was nominated for the Teacher of the Year in 2006 by the Raleigh County Board of Education, and in 2008 she was Walmart Teacher of the Year.
Ms. Campbell loved her family and friends and cherished her beagle, Mindy Sue.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Donna R. Brown and Carolyn J. Richardson Osborne. She is survived by her brother, Gary Campbell and his wife, Beatrice M. of Buford, GA; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; several aunts and uncles; her loving brothers-in-law, Robert A. Brown of Beckley and Lee Osborne of Coal City; her many devoted friends; and her loving pet, Mindy Sue.
The family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon, September 16, 2017 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Evangelist Tim Spencer officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service in the Crucifix Garden of Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Honoring Ms. Campbell, pallbearers are Jamie Campbell, Gary Brown, Jimmy Pachuta, Joe Goddard, Chad Perkins and John Henry. Honorary Pallbearers are Ramon Michael “Mikey” Dyke and Nicholas Manning.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Independence High School, Schools to Work, Holiday Basket Fund, PO Box 1595, Coal City, WV 25823 or to Lick Creek Baptist Church Fellowship Hall Building Fund, PO Box 1056, Green Sulphur Springs, WV 25976.
