Grethel Lester

Grethel enjoyed making jewelry, painting, making ceramics and quilting. She loved listening to Bluegrass music, gardening, baking fruitcake and spending time with her kids and grandchildren. She also loved the color Lavender.

Grethel is preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Charlie” Lester; son, William “Will” Lester; father, William Howard Meadows, mother, Martha Mae Meadows; sisters, Loma Hite, Ivory Meadows and Pearl Richmond.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Charles C. Lester and wife, Judy of Summerville, SC; daughter, Susie Lester Trail and husband, Shelton of Pipestem, WV; son, Kenneth Lester and wife, Angel of Helen, WV; grandchildren, Jasmine Walker and husband, Josh of Cave Springs, AR, Tanya McKinney and husband, Jason of Barkers Ridge, WV, Kenneth Lester and wife, Jessica of Rhodell, WV, Matthew Trail of Pipestem, WV, Jeff Mosher of North Charleston, SC; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Carol Williams of Cool Ridge, WV and Ruth Adkins of Cool Ridge, WV. Special friends, Stevie Williams and Donald Moore of Helen, WV.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, 5251 Robert C. Byrd Dr. Beckley, WV with Pastor Danny Lusk officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Matthew Trail, Charlie McKinney, Kenneth Lester, Jason McKinney, Ethan Harvey and Russel Patrick.

Friends may gather with the family Thursday from 1-2 PM at the funeral home.
