Born August 24, 1950 in Lively, WV; he was the son of the late Earnie and Helen Stover.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ed, Russell, Howard, Gene, Herman, and James Stover; sisters, Anna Lee Sutphin, Edith Mae Vest, and Loretta Carol Stover.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 49 years, Drema Stover; his two daughters, Carla Shuck and Susan Boyd and husband, Josh of Maple Fork; grandchildren, Kayla Stonestreet, Kasey Daniels, Lillie Boyd, Madeline Boyd, Joshua Curtis Boyd, and Matthew Boyd; three great-grandchildren, Kieran Daniels, Heidi Daniels, and Finley Skaggs; brother, Winton Stover and wife, Marie; sisters, Shirley Hinkle and husband, David and Wanda Trzicak and husband, Ronnie; a host of friends, church family, and extended Stover and Davis families.
He was a member of the Maple Fork Baptist Church. He enjoyed his church and helping out anytime he was needed until his health prevented him from it.
He was a graduate of Mt. Hope High School and served his country proudly in the United States Army. After serving his country, he worked in the mine industry and made his home in Maple Fork. He was a skilled carpenter, hunter and gardener. He was known for his kindness and generous nature.
He enjoyed deer hunting, grouse hunting with his favorite Dog, Dale and being with his family. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, his request was to be cremated and no service at this time. A memorial service will be held later at the Sam Davis Cemetery, Maple Fork.
