Ms. Betty Jo Knight

Betty Jo Young Knight, 82, of Beckley passed away Monday, October 5th, 2015, following a long, valiant battle with breast cancer. Betty Jo was born July 24th, 1933, and was a daughter of the late David and Sattie Young. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Jennings Knight, Jr., who passed away on March 30th, 2007. Betty Jo graduated from East Bank High School in 1951. She later attended West Virginia State College. She worked for many years as an officer manager for a number of companies including Greyhound Lines, Inc. and Glade Springs Resort. She is survived by her son, Jay and daughter-in-law, Kristen Knight of Frederick, Maryland; and two grandchildren, Cole and Alexandra Knight. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Sue Pryce, of South Charleston. At Betty Jo’s request, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Internment will be at Spring Hill Cemetery, Charleston. The family would like to express their appreciation of the wonderful staff of Hospice of Southern West Virginia and the Bowers Hospice House.
