Barbara Marilyn Kernes

Barbara was born July 18, 1927, in Portland, OR. She graduated from Franklin High School. Barbara married and had her children with Merle Elwyn Thom. She later married Cecil E. Kernes. Barbara worked for Tektronix as their travel agent and GTE/Verizon as a telephone operator. Barbara dearly loved her family, friends, traveling, and scrapbooking.

Barbara is survived by daughter Judith D. (Thom) Lee (E. Michael) of Erie, PA; son David E. Thom (Lori) of Beaverton; grandchildren Erin Lee Bailey (Bob), Edward Lee, Evan Lee, Ean Lee, Jennifer Thom Kimble (Travis), Matthew Thom (Jennifer), Derek Thom (Mindy), and Patrick Thom; great-grandchildren Mack Bailey, Kaden Bailey, Elizabeth Renee Bailey, Catherine Bailey, Caroline Bailey, Vanessa Thom, Alexis Green, Adina Green, Emma Thom, Logan Thom, and Elizabeth Anne Thom; great-great grandchild Josiah Bernal-Thom; nephew Jeffrey A. Smith (Lisa) and their daughter Elizabeth Smith of Ann Arbor, MI. Grandson Daniel Joseph Thom predeceased her.
