Amy Dorothy Wilson born Emiko Satow, November 29th, 1930 in Tokyo, Japan passed away peacefully, surrounded by her daughter Grace and son-in-law Steve Sanchez, January 20th, 2023 in Portland, Oregon.
Amy was born to Taiichiro Sato and Grace Mae Lowe. She was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, and endured WWII. She married James (Jim) Wilson on February 9th, 1953 in Tokyo and came to the United States. She lived in many states and cities in the U.S. including upstate N.Y., St. Petersburg, Florida, Los Angeles, California, Seattle, Washington, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Dunellen, Florida and finally Aloha, Oregon. She became a citizen of the United States in May of 1957. She was a loving mother to seven children, 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and friend to many around the world whom she corresponded with her entire life. She was an avid gardener, reader, community builder and deeply spiritual.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jim Wilson and sons, John Wilson and Ben Wilson.
She is survived by her son, Tim Wilson and wife, Shanda. Grandchildren, Tiffany Wilson-Brian, Tyler Wilson and Tia Dostilio, and 4 great-grandchildren, Ivy, Archie, Ada and Layla. Daughter-in-law Sue Wilson. Grandchildren, Melissa Wilson-Harris and Sara Keith and 2 great-grandchildren, Thomas Reed and Drew. Son, Ed Wilson and wife Kathy. Grandchildren, Joe Wilson, Jessica Carr, Grant Wilson, Annie Brister and 9 great-grandchildren, Zoe, Kensley, Gage, Charleigh, Evie, Ellasyn, Maddie, Hallie and Greer. Son Dave Wilson. Daughter-in-law, Patricia Wilson. Grandchildren, Amy Wilson and Deidra Wilson and great grandchild, Margo. Daughter Grace Sanchez and husband Steve Sanchez. Son Paul Wilson and wife, Mercedes. Grandchildren Stephen and Benjamin.
There will be a private family viewing February 1st, 2023 at 2pm at Pegg, Paxson and Springer Funeral Chapel in Beaverton, Oregon.
