Victor B. Olson

Victor was born June 25, 1933 in Houston, Texas. He has lived in Port Neches for the past 20 years after retiring from Gulf States Utilities with 31 years of service as a Master Electrician. He thoroughly enjoyed hunting and fishing while he was still able and living on Toledo Bend Reservoir. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 8557 at Toledo Bend and past Jr. Vice Commander from 1982-83. He was a Korean War Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy.

Victor was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Gertis Olson; brother, Douglas Olson; and son Jerry Olson. He is survived by a son, Perry Olson of Port Neches; stepson, Brett Rheuark of Silsbee; stepdaughters, Debra Rheuark of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Tina Hatch and husband Grant of Wilmington, North Carolina; daughter in law, Julie Olson of Meridian, Idaho; sister in law, Nereana McCord and husband Ralph of Orange and numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Monday, January 3, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Military Honors.
