Marjorie Ray Barrera, 86, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A native of Rockport, IN., she was a longtime resident of Beaumont, and was a retired caregiver. Marjorie was an avid Dallas Cowboy's fan, she also enjoyed listening to gospel music and reading, but taking care of people and leading people to Christ was her passion. She was known for always putting others ahead of herself.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 5, 2024 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her loving husband Israel Barrera, her brother Tom Morris, sister Nell Crask, and her parents John and Sarah Morris.
Marjorie is survived by her sons Bobby Barrera (Susan) of Nurnberg Germany and Dan Barrera (Tracie) of Nederland, TX and daughter Teresita Acker of Beaumont, TX, brother Rev. John David Morris of Horse Branch, KY., sisters Sue Deom of Hartford, KY., and Alice Cummings of Hawesville, KY., six grandchildren; Jeremy Wheat, Shane Nutter, Kaley Scott, Cassandra Barrera, Lindsey Barrera, Justin Barrera, and eight great grandchildren.
Marjorie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
