Joseph Lawrence Martel Sr.

A native of Church Point, LA., Joseph was a longtime resident of Vidor before moving to Beaumont in 2017. Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Joseph was a retired operator from Mobil Oil, and spent most of his free time gardening.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Monday, April 19, 2021 at the funeral home.

Joseph was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty Lou Martel, son, Scott Martel, daughter, Kim Phelps, brother, Gene Martel, sister Bernice Martel, and his parents, Gene and Clarice Martel.

Joseph is survived by his son, Joseph L. Martel, Jr and his wife Donna, daughter, Ruth Denise McDaniel all of Vidor, brother, Michael Martel of Beaumont, sisters, Bertha Martel, and Barbara Martel, grandchildren, Nina McDaniel, Amber Martel, Kristen Martel, Scotty Martel, Gillian Briggs, and Stephanie Boullion, and numerous great grandchildren.
