Darlene Jan Reddell, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on May 8, 2024, in Humble, TX, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be cherished by all who knew her. She was born on May 21, 1949, to Robert McCauley and Bertie Fae Beane, and spent her entire life in Beaumont, TX, where she made immeasurable contributions to her community.
Jan's dedication to caring for others led her to a fulfilling career as a nurse at Southeast Texas Cardiology for almost 20 years with whom the doctors and staff were her family. Later she worked at and retired from Baptist Hospital in Beaumont after many years of service. Her commitment to her patients and her unwavering compassion touched countless lives, leaving a lasting impact on the community she served.
Becoming Catholic later in life, Jan found solace and strength in her faith as a member of Saint Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. She lived her life guided by the principles of kindness, generosity, and love, and her faith was a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
Despite the passage of time, Jan remained close to her high school classmates from French High School in 1967. Jan maintaintained lifelong friendships that brought her immense joy and companionship. Her ability to nurture and sustain these connections speaks to the depth of her character and the warmth of her spirit.
Above all else, Jan cherished her family, finding her greatest joy in the presence of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life and called her Na Na. Her love for them knew no bounds, and she took great pride in watching them grow and thrive. To Jan, family was everything, and her unwavering devotion to her loved ones was evident in every aspect of her life.
Jan is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bertie McCauley, and leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be carried on by her son, Matthew, and wife, Jamie Reddell of Houston, TX, her daughter, Sheri Reddell of Sugarland, TX, her grandchildren, Morgan Reddell of San Antonio, TX, Karli Reddell and Kinley of Houston, TX, and her great-grandchildren, Kason Hunter and Davonny Green of San Antonio, TX.
As we mourn the loss of Jan, let us also celebrate the incredible life she lived and the profound impact she had on all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing, and may we honor her legacy by spreading love and kindness in her name. Jan's spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched, forever reminding us of the power of compassion and the importance of family.
