Hazel Jean Barrow, 91, of Sulphur, died Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Harbor Hospice in Lake Charles. A native of Daisetta, TX., she has lived in Sulphur since 1963, and was retired from Walmart, where she worked as a greeter for many years. Hazel enjoyed sewing barbie clothes, baking rum cakes, feeding her birds, and spending time with her family.
A Celebration of Hazel's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 12:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at the funeral home.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Lula Tywater, husband, Asa Oscar Barrow, brothers, Francis "Popeye" James Tywater, Arnold Tywater, Alfred (Dee) Tywater, Walter Tywater, Lawrence Tywater, Herbert Tywater, and Kenneth Tywater, sisters, Lillie Mae Tywater Hansen, and Evelyn Tywater Pate, and her granddaughter, Roxanne Barrow.
Hazel is survived by her sons, Roy Barrow, Sr. and his wife Lorraine, and Russell Barrow all of Sulphur, brothers, Roger "Dick" Tywater and his wife Mary of Silsbee, and Walker (Jabo) Tywater and his wife Elizabeth of Alvin, TX., five grandchildren, Brenton Barrow, Ariel Barrow, Ryan Barrow, Roy Barrow, Jr., and Daniel "DJ" Barrow, and numerous great grandchildren.
Hazel will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
