Freddie Margaret (Greer) Myers

Freddie Margaret Greer Myers was born on September 1, 1941, in Oakdale, Louisiana. Freddie attended LaGrange High School in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She received her BA in Elementary Education from McNeese State College where she met her husband of 61 years, Vohn Myers, Jr.

Freddie served as an educator for 40 years, making life-long friends of several colleagues. She enriched the lives of thousands of children.

Freddie enjoyed traveling, singing in the church choir, ringing handbells, and serving in various children and youth groups at her church. She also enjoyed time spent with friends in her Ladies Bible Study.

Her greatest joy in all her life was her grandchildren- Derek, Andy, Damon, Clayton, Madelyn, Avery, Nolan, Calli, and Conner. Never have children been more cared for and loved than these.

Freddie is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Madelyn Greer, and her sister Francis Leep. She is survived by her husband, Vohn Myers, Jr., daughter Julie Seaton and husband Parker, daughter Vonda Kay Brown and husband Bryant, son David Myers and wife Sandi, daughter Lori Brice and Husband James, brothers Howard Greer and wife Betty, and Bob Greer and wife Donna, sister-in-law Carol Wommack, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Gathering of Friends and Family for Freddie will be held Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, Texas 77703. Follow by a Celebration of Freddie's Life at 2:00 PM. Freddie will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Garden of Faith.
