Edith Ione Sanders Wynne, 85, of Kirbyville, died Monday, December 19, 2022 at her residence. A native of Limestone County, TX., Ione was a longtime resident of Lumberton before moving to Kirbyville 6 months ago.
Ione was owner-operator of Race Horse Foundation Company with her husband. She spent most of her life working alongside him in their commercial concrete business, which served Southeast Texas for 59 years. Ione enjoyed playing the slot machines at the casinos, and was an avid Texas Ranger's Baseball fan. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was the joy of her life. She was an excellent cook and always a gracious host, often preparing enough food for a large gathering at a moments notice. She was a generous person who always took care of others.
A Celebration of Ione's Life will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
A Gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont.
Ione was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years Billy T. Wynne, parents, George Sanders and Lilly Brown Sanders, brothers, Thomas Sanders, William George Sanders, sisters, Ella Pearl Pendergrass, Minnie Ola Frazier, Nona Krueger, Lucille Carroll, Mildred Reedy, and Georgie Murphy.
Ione is survived by her sons, Billy Carlton Wynne of Hemphill, Thomas Wayne Wynne and his wife Sharon of Fawell, TX., daughter, Freda P. Neely and her husband Paul of Kirbyville, sister, Alice Petty of Kirbyville, grandchildren, Ashley Miller and her husband Whitney of Shreveport, LA., Tiffany Wright and her husband Duff of Magnolia, TX., Cody Wynne of Hemphill, great grandchildren, Ryan Wynne, Alexia Wynne, Loren Wynne, Rylie Wynne, Luke Wright, Lincoln Wright, Layla Wright, and Sloane Wynne Miller.
Ione will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
