Dorothy grew up in Beaumont and attended Beaumont High School where she graduated in 1948. On December 6, 1949, she married Jesse Karrell Waller and together they raised 5 children. Dorothy was a well educated woman who was firm in her beliefs in the Lord and was a charter member of First Baptist Church in Bevil Oaks where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years. She loved to travel and go camping, and in her life was blessed to visit Ireland, Hawaii, and Mexico. She enjoyed painting, gardening and sewing.
Dorothy is survived by her sons Jesse Karrell Waller, Jr. and his wife Marceline and Denis Waller; her daughters Karen Kelley and her husband Dave; Gayle Taylor and her husband David; Marcia Corbet and her husband Jim; her sister Adele Allen; her grandchildren Kalese Gabriel, Clint Kelley, Jesse Karrell Waller, Tina Waller, Michael Wilkinson, Daniel Wilkinson, Abel Pearl Waller, Joni Morgan, Betsy Pence and Molly Corbet along with 10 great-grandchildren and 1 more on the way.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Karrell Waller; her father Abel Pearl Thompson and her mother Jessie Lee Powers; her brothers Vernon Thompson, Earl Thompson and Charles Ray Thompson; her sister Ruth Johnson and her grandson Brian Kelley.
Dorothy will be greatly missed by all those that she’s left behind. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
Services will be held on Thursday February 24, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home located at 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, Texas 77703
