Mamie Hitchcock, age 88, of Banning, California passed away on Monday August 6, 2018. Mamie was born February 19, 1930 in Cee Vee, Texas. She previously lived in Cherry Valley for 30 years. She worked as a secretary for Burgess North America for 30 years. Mamie was a member the Primitive Baptist Church and TOPS. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, canning, painting and reading.
Mamie is survived by her daughter Peggy Grefe of Beaumont; and son Harvey Hitchcock of Chandler, AZ; granddaughter Tina Alsop of Beaumont, grandson Steve Hitchcock of Goodyear, AZ, granddaughter Melisa Richardson of Las Vegas and grandson David Hitchcock of Chandler, AZ; great Grandchildren Kyle Crawford, Timothy Richardson, Paige Richardson, Chase Richardson, Kailee Richardson, Nicole Hitchcock, Trent Hitchcock, Jacob Hitchcock and Ryan Hitchcock; and great-great grandson Richardson Colt along with several nieces and nephews.
Mamie was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Hitchcock; sister Mary Lowren Carrick; sister Erma Dean Goist and sister Lucy Leaota Stanley.
A funeral service for Mamie will be held Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Ave, Beaumont, California 92223. Following the funeral service will be a graveside service at 12:15 PM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, California 94102.
