David is survived by his wife of sixteen years, Kimberly Stojack Sweet; his son Jason Sweet; his daughter Monique Sweet; his step daughter Jaime Palmer; his step daughter Jennifer Schouten; his step-son Joshua Nocas; and his step daughter Jessica Holstien; his brother Chuck Sweet, his brother Jeff Sweet, his sister Carole Sweet, his brother Tim Sweet, his sister Debbie Smith and his brother Kris Sweet; his grandchild Taylor, his grandchild Kalena, his grandchild Nathan, his grandchild Gerritt, his grandchild Logan, his grandchild Kiana, his grandchild Marek, his grandchild Violet, his grandchild Wade, his grandchild Hazel, his grandchild Finn, his grandchild Harper, his grandchild Eliza, his grandchild Beau, his grandchild Hailey, his grandchild Renna, his grandchild Henry and his grandchild Norah.
David was preceded in death by his father Charles Rae Sweet and his mother Frances Thelma Sweet; his brother Bill Sweet and his sister Judy Haeger.
David worked for 30 years as an executive in the banking industry and prior to that he worked for The City of Huntington Beach. He was a member of St. Kateri Catholic Church and was on the Finance Committee, Eucharistic Ministry and Parish Leadership. He was also a Board Member of the H.O.A. at Four Seasons 55+ community.
David volunteered as a S.C.O.R.E. mentor. He loved his English Bulldog "Baxter Maggoo" as well as camping, traveling and being with his family and grandkids. David was always ready for a game of Texas Holdem, enjoyed woodworking and home renovation projects with his family. He also hosted "Friday Wine" with family and friends in front of the outside fireplace and David was a HUGE Lakers fan.
A visitation for David will be held Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Ave, Beaumont, California 92223. A catholic funeral service will occur Friday, December 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St Kateri Catholic Church, 1234 Palm Ave, Beaumont, California 92223. A shelter service and military honors will occur Friday, December 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, California 92518.
