She will be deeply missed and treasured by her surviving daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Ron Halbrook, Marilyn and Randy Harshbarger, Denise and Ron Kirkwood, and Kathy and Mark Walker, her beloved 19 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren, her 5 sisters Frances Smith, Jeanette Page, Betty Herring and husband Tommie, Elaine Murff, and Anita McDonald as well as many nieces and nephews.
Virgie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Clifford White Bell, her parents, Ernest and Maude Young, her brother, E.W. Young, and sisters, Doris Skidmore, Joyce Lee, and Patsy Miller.
Virgie was a faithful member of the Pruett & Lobit St. church of Christ where she attended at every opportunity for decades. She treasured building a beautiful life alongside Clifford, and cherished the work they shared together for the glory of the Lord. She was a homemaker, raising her four daughters, and serving the needs of those around her daily. She enjoyed being in the kitchen, cooking for anyone in need, and will forever be known for her famous cinnamon rolls. She loved to bake and made the wedding cakes for each of her four daughters. She continued to share her love for cooking, baking, and serving with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Virgie was given many names on this earth: daughter, sister, wife, mother, and most affectionately, Grandma, MawMaw, and MeeMee, but her greatest joy was being called a Christian. A servant of the Lord. She longed for heaven and shared with everyone her love for God and His love for them. She leaves a legacy of continual daily devotion and enduring faith and will always be remembered for her love for Jesus, her family, her church family, and all those she met along the way.
Her family will receive friends on Friday, January 28th, 2022 from 5:00PM - 7:00PM at Earthman Funeral Home 3919 Garth Rd., Baytown, TX 77521. A funeral service will occur on Saturday, January 29th, 2022 at 2PM at Earthman Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens.
