Russell P. Redford

Russell P. Redford was born February 15, 1920, in Kerens, TX, son of Lloyd Linwood Redford and Donna A. Hodge. He passed away at his home Monday evening, February 24, 2014 at the age of 94. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Margueritte Reed Redford who died in 2009 and an infant daughter Diann Redford in 1954.

He is survived by 2 sons, Russell P. Redford Jr. and daughter-in-law Dorothy Johnson Redford of Birmingham, Alabama and Rodney W. Redford and daughter-in-law Gayle Shaw Redford of Channelview, Texas. He had 5 grandchildren, Deborah Redford Brisky, spouse Russell A. Brisky Jr., Russell P. Redford III, spouse Kristy Carter Redford, Kyle Page Redford, Cory Reed Redford and Bryan Seale, 5 great-grandchildren, Lacey Brisky Stroud, Caitlyn Brisky, Madison Paige Redford, Grayson Cole Redford, Summer Elizabeth Seale and 2 great great-grandchildren, Owen Stroud and Rylie Stroud.

Russell was a decorated World War II combat veteran serving in the Texas National Guard and the US 5th Army under Major General Mark Clark. He received his Honorable Discharge as a Sergeant. He was an electrical supervisor for Armco Steel, retiring after 35 years of service.

The patriarch of our family, he was a man of honor and integrity; loved his family, enjoyed the great outdoors, had many friends and a passion for fast cars and boats.

Pallbearers will be Russell P Redford, III, Kyle Page Redford, Cory Reed Redford, Brian Seale, Grayson Cole Redford and Russell A. Brisky Jr.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Navarre Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2014 at the funeral home with burial to follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park in Houston.
