Darlene was born at home on February 6, 1947, in Leggett, TX. She brought joy and laughter to her family right from the start as her home birth was described as a “comedy and a farce” by her mother.
She graduated from Aldine High School in 1965 where she was a member of the Future Nurses Club. After graduation, she went on to study nursing in Houston, TX where she worked as a nurse for many years before she switched careers to uphold various administrative roles.
The simplest pleasures in life gave Darlene a humble happiness. Some of her many hobbies over the years included painting, crafting, and reading. Darlene loved collecting family heirlooms, antiques, and enjoyed a good margarita. She had a great sense of humor and didn’t hold back if she had something to say. She also had a fondness for baseball and loved Altuve.
Darlene was a devoted mother and loved her son unconditionally.
