Rickey L. Watton, 53, of Dayton was born March 14, 1957 in Sioux Falls, SD and passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011 in a Houston hospital. He was employed by ExxonMobil MBPP for over 20 years. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley, and collecting big boy toys, but he especially loved his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward H. Watton and stepfather, Delwin Thompson. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gabe and Heather Watton of Baytown; mother, Lucille T. Thompson of Sioux Falls, SD; sister and brother-in-law, Jan and John Ray of Humboldt, SD; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed and Carol Watton of Dayton, Roger Watton of Krotz Springs, LA, Rod Thompson of Dayton, and Jeff and Delle Thompson of Parker, SD; grandchildren, Riley Watton and Jake Watton; ex wife and longtime friend, Sally Watton of Baytown; special friend Amber Boyd of Dayton; and numerous other family members and friends.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Harmon, Rick Brown, Jeff Gregory, Ryan Ugalde, Daryl Starr, Tim Bogle, Mike Bogle and Mark Mcalpin.
Honorary pallbearers include Jake Watton, Ed Watton, Roger Watton, Rod Thompson, Jeff Thompson, Jan Ray, Donnie Pitts, Cory Stoffers, Wes Hines and Allen Jackson.
