Paul David Lawrence was born on December 15, 1948, in Houston, Texas, the son of Norman and Jerry Lawrence. Paul graduated from Smiley High School in 1967. After high school, he spent the entire two years of his Army career in Germany-from 1969 to 1971. Returning home from the service, Paul went to work for Texas Petrochemical of Houston, working as a machinist for 20 plus years until his death on March 26, 2013, in Baytown, Texas.
Predeceasing Paul are his parents, Norman and Jerry, his father-in-law, Rev. Burnette W. Dowler, and his brother-in-law, Edward T. Dowler.
Paul was not only an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing but an incredible industrial artist who enjoyed creating amazing works from varied stone and metals. In addition, he was a kind and generous man who would help anyone, friend or stranger and in death did so by donating his organs for transplantation. He was also a devoted step-father to his step-son, Christopher Hamilton Warren.
Mr. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Adele Dowler Warren, step-son Christopher Hamilton Warren; his sister, Marilyn Grubbs; his niece, Melissa, and her husband, David Sawyer, and their children, Journey Sawyer and Bastian Lillich; and a nephew, Nicholas Grubbs, and his children, Ian, Myah, and Devon Grubbs. Also surviving Mr. Lawrence is his wife's family; mother-in-law, Dolly Dowler; sister-in-law, Kathryn Dowler; brother-in-law, Burnette Dowler and wife Debbie Smith and Burnette's step-son, Cameron Keene Davis; and brother-in-law, Jody Dowler.
In memory of Mr. Lawrence, his family requests that if you are not already an organ transplant donor; please consider taking steps to become one.
A memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Tommy Clements, Second Baptist Church, Baytown, and held at Earthman Funeral Home, Thursday evening, April 4, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
