His parents, 3 brothers and 5 sisters preceded him. Those left to treasure years of memories are his devoted wife of 64+ years, Jeanette; children, Karla, Phil, Fred, and Vickie; grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sibling, Robert E. Page and wife, Glynn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was born December 21, 1921 in Chillicothe, TX to Avery and Mary Page. Desiring a Christian environment for their growing family, the Pages put down roots in Abilene, TX in 1923. He passionately dedicated his life in service to God and country. Drafted in August 1942, Les' lengthy career as a military man, educator, and community contributor prepared him for full retirement in 1986 to enjoy a less structured life at home and traveling.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Wednesday, August 4, 2010 beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Tommie Herring officiating. Graveside services with military honors will be Friday, August 6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Abilene Municipal Cemetery.
