John R. Munson

John R. Munson, 66, of Baytown was born December 5, 1943 in Baytown and passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010 in a Houston hospital. He was a member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church and the San Jacinto High Rollers Motorcycle Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Munson and Velma Duke Bender and brother, Jerry Munson. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Munson of Baytown; son, Scott Munson of Tomball; stepdaughter, Kristi Dodson of Crosby; sisters and brother-in-law, Lois Corner of Anahuac and Ruth Ann and Ronnie Snell of Spring Branch; brothers and sister-in-law, Vernon and Betty Munson and G. T. ""Tex"" Munson, all of Baytown; and grandsons, Brennan and August Munson.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, May 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Dr. E. Richard Steel officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Corky Munson, Virgil Curtis, Tilman Blanchard, Wayne Colwell, Donny Wade and Craig Blanchard. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the San Jacinto High Rollers Motorcycle Club.
