Helen Hollingshead Leonard, a sixty year resident of Mont Belvieu, was born March 21, 1921, in Ganado, Texas, and passed away on April 11, 2006. A member of First Baptist Church of Mont Belvieu and Old River Baptist Church, Helen will be remembered with love for her unshakable Christian faith, her caring and giving nature, and her ever-present humor. Her family and friends celebrate her life and testimony, which will live on as a precious memory.
Helen has been reunited with her beloved husband Charlie, her parents George and Rose Hollingshead, her brother and sister-in-law G.B. and Nellie Hollingshead and her brother William C. Hollingshead, her sisters and brothers-in-law Peggy and Eddie Foster and Alice and Edward Garret.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Darlynne and Charles Hayden of Duncanville; Carvelynne and Howard Graff of Hamshire; her son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Annette Leonard of Mont Belvieu; sister-in-law Betty Hollingshead of Baytown; nine grandchildren: Michael Verde of Chicago, Wooch Graff and wife Jill of Houston, Chris Hayden and wife Chris of Desoto, TX, Ashley Gordon and husband Aaron of Dallas, David Zantop of College Station and Lauren Zantop of Huntsville, Alison Stevenson, Robin Borke, and Bonnie Graff of Beaumont; six great grandchildren: Conner and Cara Hayden, Addison and Avery Gordon, Alyssa and Ariel Stevenson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Friday at Navarre Funeral Home, officiated By Rev. Walton Strickland and Rev. Danny Biddy. Burial will follow at Palms Cemetery in Dayton.
