Gloria is preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Nora Woodall and parents Robert and Minnie Lee Newberry. Her husband of 54 years Donald Padgett, brother James Newberry, sister Dolly Dorley, daughter Theresa Grubbs, granddaughter Tanya May and son-in-law Gene Buehring.
Gloria was a kind and loving woman who never met a stranger. She leaves behind to celebrate her memory her daughter, Sharon Buehring and son Stephen and wife (daughter) Leara.
Gloria also celebrated being called Granny or GG (great grandmother). Those honored to remember her as Granny are Alex, Angel, Bobby, Danny, Michael, Nicholas, Stephen Jr and wife Melissa, Tina, Zachary and wife Hillary. Gloria was GG to Allison, Mason, Jeremy and Alton.
She will be missed by her many extended family members and friends (Calvin, she will always be younger than you now!)
Gloria had a bubbling laughter and a love of photography, especially getting her photo taken with any large objects she passed while traveling. No matter if it was 110 or 30 degrees and snowing, she would somehow manage to get that photo!
She was creative, a wonderful craftsperson and seamstress. She loved jokes and pranks and she loved to laugh. She made beautiful cakes and homemade gifts. In her later years she enjoyed coloring and had a small wall gallery in her room to share with her visitors. She could sit and talk about our family tree for hours, engrossed in discussion and looking at photos.
Her GREATEST LOVE was her family, Donald, Theresa, Sharon and Stephen. She devoted her life to that love and saw it as the greatest accomplishment and contribution of her life.
She loved the Lord and lived a life of love, kindness, sacrifice and generosity; a life well lived.
